Create List Gadget Examples

Tasks Created Today

In this example, we will create a List gadget that shows Tasks created Today, sorted by Entry Date.

  1. Click +.
  2. Select List.
  3. Enter the title, Tasks Created Today.
  4. Select the Tasks recordset.
  5. Click iFilter.png.
  6. Create the filter Entry Date Is Today.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Leave the Group By field blank. 

The initial list layout is determined by the Recordset's List view or the signed-in user's persisted List view.

  1. From the list headings in the Preview dialog box, click Column Selector, select the .  to add the Entry Date column, drag it to be the first column position, and click to sort by the column.
  2. Select Users/Roles to share your gadget with.
  3. Click Complete.

The gadget displays at the bottom of your dashboard. The record count displays in the bottom right-hand corner of the list gadget, like other list views in the system. If you want to adjust columns or sorting, you must edit the gadget.

Tasks Labor Cost Grouped by Asset Type

In this example, we will create a list gadget that shows a list of Tasks and aggregate of labor cost grouped by the Tasks' Asset Type. The end result is a chart that can be easily changed to show the total labor cost for each Asset Type.

  1. In the Analytics Dashboard, click +.
  2. Select List.
  3. Enter the title, Tasks Labor Cost Grouped by Asset Type.
  4. Select the Tasks recordset.
  5. In the Group By field, select Asset Type.

The Preview dialog box displays a Group By list with the Asset Types the Tasks in the list are associated with. The initial list layout is determined by the Recordset's List view or the signed-in User's persisted List view.

  1. Use the list headings in Preview dialog box to add, remove, reorder, or sort columns.
  2. Select the Users and Roles to share your gadget with.
  3. Click Complete.

The gadget displays at the bottom of your dashboard. In order to adjust columns and sorting, you must edit the Gadget. The record count is shown in the bottom right-hand corner of the list gadget, similar to the other grids in the system.
