Bar Codes and Cartegraph One
Bar codes make data collection faster and more accurate by scanning data instead of entering it. Cartegraph One allows you to scan bar codes from these pages:
- Record search: use a bar code to find any task, asset, request, or equipment record. The bar code can be associated with any field on the record detail. For example, the ID or manufacturer
- Task equipment log: add or edit an equipment record to the task log.
- Task material log: add or edit a material record to the task log.
Create Bar Codes
Bar codes are not generated or stored in Cartegraph. Instead, bar codes can be generated by software packages, bar code generator websites, and other tools available for generating and printing the bar codes. When the bar code is generated, the information from the Cartegraph system is added to the bar code. When the bar code is generated, you can enter one piece of data to encode. This is where you would enter, for example, the record ID.
