Create Asset Relationships in Cartegraph One

There are three ways to create asset relationships in Cartegraph One. All of these require customizations to layouts in Layout Manager.

Create Asset and Relationship

When you create an asset record with Cartegraph One, you might want it to be linked or a component of a container asset. Here are some common examples:

  • a bench or picnic table to a park
  • assets to a specific floor in a building
  • a sign linked to a support
  • a lateral to a main

There are two possible ways to create the relationship when creating the record depending on how the Detail view layout is customized. For more detail on these layouts see Create Cartegraph One Layouts.

Create the Record From a Linked or Container Asset

In this example, we want to create a Facility Lighting record as a component to a Floor which is the container in this relationship.

  1. Go to the linked or container asset on the map and open the Detail view. In this example, open the Floor Detail view.
  2. Tap on the tab for the asset record you want to create. In this example, tap on the Facility Lighting tab.
  3. Click Add Facility Lighting +.
  4. Enter the details for the record and click Save.

The new asset record is related either as a link or a component to a container asset.

Create the Record From the Home Screen

In this example, we want to create a Facility Lighting record as a component to a Floor which is the container in this relationship.

  1. On the map tap iPlus.png.
  2. Select the asset type. In this example, Facility Lighting.
  3. Fill in the details, including the container or linked asset. In this example, select the specific Floor.
  4. Click Save.

The new asset record is related either as a link or a component to a container asset.

Create Relationship for Existing Records

In this example, we want to set a Facility Lighting record as a component to a Floor which is the container in this relationship.

  1. Go to the linked or component asset on the map and open the Detail view. In this example, open the Facility Lighting Detail view.
  2. Find the linked or container field. In this example, Floor.
  3. Select the specific record. In this example, the specific Floor where the Facility Lighting is located.
  4. Click Save.

The asset record is related either as a link or a component to a container asset.
