PCI Inspection Actions

Start a PCI Inspection

  1. Go to a Pavement or Pavement Area Inspect task.
  2. On the Task Detail view, tap iInspectionCGOne.png.
  3. From the PCI Condition Category, tap Start.
  4. Tap Use Segment as Single Sample, User Previous Samples, or Generate Army Corps of Engineers Samples.
  5. Samples are not saved you tap Save on the inspection screen.

Samples Without Distresses

  1. If a sample does not contain distresses, tap iCG1ActionMenu.png on the sample.
  2. Tap No Distresses Found.

If distresses were already entered on the sample, they are removed.

Add Distresses to a Sample

  1. On a sample, tap iCG1ActionMenu.png, then tap Add Distress.
  2. Fill out the distress information and then tap Add Distress to add the distress to the sample.
  3. The dialog box stays open so that multiple distresses can be added to the same sample.
  4. Once all distresses are added, tap the X in the upper left-hand corner to close the dialog box.

All distresses added will show on the main inspection screen under the chosen sample.

These distresses have not yet been saved until the save button is tapped on the main inspection screen.

Delete a distress

On a distress, tap and then tap Delete Distress.

Add an Additional Sample

  • After generating samples, if more samples are needed and if you are using Army Corp samples, it cannot be an entire segment for the sample, tap iCG1ActionMenu.png on a sample and then tap Add Additional Sample.
  • Fill out the From Field and To Field for the sample.
  • If you would like to set No Distresses Found for the new sample, you may also do so at this time.
  • Tap Add Sample, and the sample is added to the PCI samples list in the correct order.
  • New samples are not saved until you tap Save on the main inspection screen.

Warnings

Create Samples or Delete Distresses

When creating samples or deleting all distresses for a sample, a warning displays.

The highlighted samples are missing distresses or should be marked No Distresses Found.

You may save even if your samples are not all valid. However, the inspection cannot be completed until all samples are marked as No Distresses Found or have at least one distress added. Any sample that requires additional information will be marked with a gold warning on the left edge.

To resolve all warnings, use the menu on that sample to add a distress or mark it as no distresses found.

Offline

Start PCI inspection and generate samples before going offline. The pavement or pavement area asset record and the inspection task need to be available to complete the PCI inspection.

Samples

The following message displays if the asset data is not available when trying to add another sample to a PCI Inspection while offline:

"The asset data required to add a distress is not available."

For these possible reasons:

  • When working with PCI inspections, you need an active Pavement or Pavement Area layer depending on which asset type you are inspecting.  If no such layer is available, the asset data is not included in the data synchronized to the device when going offline.
  • If there is an active Pavement or Pavement Area layer, but a filter is set on the layer, this may cause the asset to be excluded when going offline.
  • If the asset does not have a location defined, it is not be included in data synchronized to the device when going offline.
  • If the asset has a location but the location does not match the location of the inspection task, it may not be included in data synchronized to the device when going offline.
  • If your administrator has configured a record filter for your role, it may prevent the asset from being included in data synchronized to the device when going offline.

Distress

The following message displays if the asset data is not available when trying to add a distress to a PCI Inspection while offline:

"The asset data required to add a distress is not available."

For these possible reasons:

  • When working with PCI inspections, you need an active Pavement or Pavement Area layer depending on which asset type is being inspected.  If no such layer is available, the asset data is not included in the data synchronized to the device when going offline.
  • If there is an active Pavement or Pavement Area layer, but a filter is set on the layer, this may cause the asset to be excluded when going offline.
  • If the asset does not have a location defined, it is not included in data synchronized to the device when going offline.
  • If the asset has a location but the location does not match the location of the inspection task, it may not be included in data synchronized to the device when going offline.
  • If your administrator has configured a record filter for your role, it may prevent the asset from being included in data synchronized to the device when going offline.
