Maps in Cartegraph One

The map in Cartegraph One is part of everything you do in the app related to assets, requests, and tasks.

The following information helps you get the most out of the maps in the app:

  • Cartegraph One uses Esri street maps, web maps, and basemaps.
  • When shown for the first time, the map centers on the device's location if it is available; Screen Shot 2018-04-18 at 11.12.22 AM.png is highlighted blue when your location marker is displayed on the map.
  • Tap Screen Shot 2018-04-18 at 11.12.22 AM.png to center on your map location. If the location marker is already in the center of the map, tapping the button hides the location marker.
  • Records display based on the color selected for it's corresponding layer.
  • Tasks display on top of assets on the map. If you are trying to view an asset on the map and it's covered by a Task, turn off the Tasks layer.
  • Tap Screen Shot 2018-04-18 at 11.12.27 AM.png to switch to the Tasks or Requests list.

Map Layers

Cartegraph Map Layers settings in Cartegraph One are completely independent of the Cartegraph Map Layers used in Cartegraph OMS and Cartegraph for iPad.

Cartegraph One map layers and the selected basemap persist in the app.

To change the color of a record on the map, change it on the layer.

After you tap on a record on the map, the record's summary displays as outlined below.

  • Primary attachment
  • Activity and Asset Type
  • Priority, Start Date, and ID
  • Proximity to device location

Location Shape Display

The Cartegraph One app allows you to create and edit the record's location on the map. From the record's detail view move the location marker for point assets or for linear and polygon assets, tap and drag the shape's vertices. If the location is not needed, tap Clear when editing the record location.

Record, Address, and Location Search

Use the search field on the map to center the map on a record, address, or location for records in the selected layers. The search in Cartegraph One uses the same geolocation settings used in Cartegraph OMS.

The search looks like this and is found on the:

  • Map home screen
  • Map when you edit a record's location
  • Map that displays during the create record process

Users can now select the records that have a location on the map by

  • Clicking on the proximity indicator on the map card or
  • Clicking the Select on Map option from the map card three-dot menu.

Here's how it works for asset, request, or task records:

  1. Type the ID of an asset in your layers. For example, Post Office.
  2. The top five results for each record type display as you type.
  3. Select the record from the list.
  4. The map centers on the record.

Here's how it works for addresses:

  1. Type the address or location. For example, 123 Fake Street or courthouse.
  2. The top 5 results display as you type.
  3. Select the address or location from the list.
  4. The map centers and a pin is dropped at the location.

Here's how Cartegraph One uses the address you selected:

  1. If you're creating a record, the locator details fill in based on the address selected.
  2. Requests, non-asset tasks, and point assets inherit the address location.
  3. Polygon and linear assets display a blue pin on the map for reference.

If you move the pin, the closest known address displays. If no address is available, a partial address or the latitude and longitude of that location display.

Want to remove the pin on the map? Tap the X in the search field.

Need to clear the search box? Try one of these options:

  1. Clear button on the map screen
  2. Tap Screen Shot 2018-04-18 at 11.12.22 AM.pngto reset the location to your current location.
  3. Sign out and sign back in.
