Create a Chart Report with the Basic Designer

Start to location where you want the report to display, Reports tab, List view, or Detail view. 

Select the Recordset and Report Type

  1. Click Create.
  2. Select the Type.
  3. Enter the report name.
  4. Select the Use Basic Designer: Chart option for the Layout.
  5. Click Create.

Build the Report in the Basic Report Designer

  1. From the Select a Table section, select the table for the report and click .
  2. Select a chart type, then a chart sub-type. For example, Rings/Charts, then Ring.
  3. The properties panel displays.
  4. In the General section, edit the title or base table.
  5. The next sections vary based on the selected chart types. All chart types have the Layout and Filter sections. 
  6. In the Layout section, select the color scheme, paper size, and orientation.
  7. In the Filter section, click Add filter.
  8. Add fields to filter the data included in the report and click .
  9. The filters set up do not display in the report viewer.

Test and Run the Report

  1. Click Preview. Review the data and design and made any changes.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Select the new report from either the Reports menu or Reports tab.
