Internal Requests Setup

You must have a Cartegraph OMS advanced feature extension to access this feature.

The following covers the areas of the feature to consider during setup.

There are several options available for customization of the Internal Request feature. The My Submitted Requests list can be customized or turned off completely. Additionally, the ability to allow attachments through the Internal Requests can be turned off.

Security

Determine which users have access to the feature. By default all users have access to Internal Requests. For a user that only needs access to the Internal Request feature, assign them to the Default Internal Request User role.

If the Requests: Create security assignment for Attachments is turned off for a role, then the Add an attachmentlink is hidden in the Internal Request feature for any users assigned to that role. See Internal Requests Security for more information.

Setup the Request Issues Available for Selection and Configure the Display

Customize the Internal Request feature by request issue type to capture only the information most important to the issue being reported.

To choose the field values you want, per request issue type, use the following steps:

  1. ClickScreen Shot 2018-04-12 at 3.27.44 PM.png >Library Manager.
  2. Open the Request Issues library.
  3. Hover over the request issue that you want to update and click View.
NOTE: If the Request Issue is not in the library, add it.
  1. Click Edit.
  2. Select the Internal Request check box.
  3. Click Define View.
  4. To add fields, select a field and click Add.
NOTE: New fields are added to the bottom of the list and cannot be reordered.
  1. To remove fields from the definition, hover over the field, and click Remove Field.
  2. When editing is complete, click Apply.
  3. Click Save.

Setup the Internal Requests List View

If needed, update the columns that display in the list view and show or hide the My Submitted Requests and Attached Files sections.

The Internal Request view applies to all users regardless of role. If any changes are made to the request list display in the Internal Request feature by adding column sorts, adjusting column widths, or rearranging column order, that view persists until the user's persistence is reset in User Administration.
