This section covers how Vehicle Replacement Ratings are calculated.

These fields are recalculated whenever a Task, Fuel Log or Equipment record is created, updated, or deleted. Make sure the Equipment Classification has the Vehicle check box selected for the associated classification to view this information for the Equipment record.

Age Calculation

• 1 point for each year based on Manufactured Date
• Determine the number of days between today and Manufactured Date
• Divide days by 365
• Cannot be less than 0 or greater than 5

Usage Calculation

Based on Current Usage and the point value, cannot be less than 0 or greater than 5.

• If Miles: 1 point for each 10,000 miles, divide Current Usage by 10,000
• If Hours: 1 point for each 250 Hours, divide Current Usage by 250
• If Kilometers: 1 point for each 16000 KM, divide Current Usage by 16000

Service Type Calculation

• An Attribute of the Equipment record
• Cannot be less than 0 or greater than 5

Type of Service is a subjective value representing the function or importance of a vehicle. A pickup truck used for travel to work sites is a 1 since any vehicle could be used. However, if you own a single plow and it goes down, you are in trouble, so it is critical and warrants a rating of 5.

Reliability Calculation

• Find the number of Tasks related to the equipment that do not have an activity of Accident (N)
• Determine days since In Service Date and divide by 90 to get how many 90 day periods: (D)
• Divide Task count by the number of 90 day periods: (N/D) = (W, or # of Tasks per 90 day period)
• Get the User input from System Settings for VRR Reliability: (X)
• Divide User input by 5 to get correct scale: (X / 5) = (Y)
• Divide Task per 90 days by scale: (W / Y) = Score
• Cannot be less than 0 or greater than 5

M & R Calculation

If there is not a purchase cost or the purchase cost of the equipment is 0: M&R is not calculated

If there are no Tasks or none of the Tasks have a total cost: M&R is 0

COST = Sum the total cost for all tasks that do not have an activity of Accident|
PERC = Determine the cost percentage cost is of the Purchase Cost ((COST / PURCHASE COST) * 100)
MRSet = System setting for VRR M and R
MR = ((PERC * .05) / ADJMR)

The calculated value must be between 0 and 5 inclusive.

Condition Calculation

• Convert our 100 point scale to a 5 point scale
• 5 - (Estimated OCI * 0.05)
• Invert the value
• Cannot be less than 0 or greater than 5

VRR Total

The sum of all of the above calculations.

Fleet Average Calculation

• Find all Equipment records with the same Equipment Classification
• Find the average of all the VRR scores.
• Do not include equipment with a null VRR
