Cartegraph Campus

Integration Toolkit

The Integration Toolkit contains four components: API, Webhooks, Cartegraph for Zapier, and Scheduled Import or Export Automation. For more information on any of these features, contact OpenGov at 800.688.2656.

API

The Cartegraph API is a tool for integration and system expansion to create, update, and delete records. It facilitates communication between the Cartegraph suite and other systems and applications developed to our API specifications.

Who is it for?

We developed the Cartegraph API for technology developers interested in making their technology better by leveraging ours. Engaging and working with other members of the technology community gives us the opportunity to better understand and address the needs of our market.

The Cartegraph API is a REST API, requiring a skilled software developer who understands programming and REST APIs. It is intended for computer programmers, developers, and software engineers. It is not an end-user technology to get data into or out of the system. For that, use the Import/Export feature.

What do I need to know?

It’s a versioned API. You should consider the REST API as a contract between the Cartegraph suite and any third-party code system. OpenGov will continue to add nonbreaking features. Your interactions with the Cartegraph API will continue to function from version to version. The REST API uses standard HTTP verbs and JSON to function. It can be used with any platform or system that supports HTTP and JSON serialization.

In order to be successful using the Cartegraph REST API, you need to understand how our system works from the end user’s perspective. The REST API provides no hand-holding or advice for proper workflows.

What’s the benefit?

When the Cartegraph software suite is integrated with third-party technology built to our API specifications, end-users gain the ability to create, read, update, and delete Cartegraph data from outside the Cartegraph framework.

Webhooks

Webhooks help you connect the Cartegraph suite with other applications, so you can automate workflows and access data in real-time. Each webhook is triggered by an event, like the creation of a new task. You can set up incoming and outgoing webhooks in the Cartegraph suite. For example, you might create an outgoing webhook to send a text message whenever a task is assigned.

Cartegraph for Zapier

Cartegraph for Zapier is a no-code solution to help you automate workflows and connect the apps you use every day. Eliminate manual, repetitive tasks—and save tons of time—by creating streamlined workflows for your team: send tasks to an Outlook calendar, create requests based on a Google Forms entries, send a tweet when a pothole request closes, or reschedule tasks based on a weather forecast. With Cartegraph for Zapier, you can build your own automated workflows in minutes and integrate with over 2,000 popular apps, no developer skills required.

Scheduled Import or Export Automation

When you need to schedule a regular time to import data from another software tool or export data out of the Cartegraph software to a software tool, create an automation with the Schedule an Import or Export block. You also have access to view and edit the automation in Automation Manager even if Automation Manager is not included in your product package.

You must have administrator rights to access this feature.

This feature may not be available in every package. Not sure if you have this feature or you want to learn more about it? Send us a message at support@cartegraph.com.
